Description

The Asahi Pentax 6X7, Later known as the Pentax 67 is a single-lens reflex (SLR) camera manufactured by Pentax, which produces images that are nominally 6 cm by 7 cm in size. released in 1969 by the Japanese company Asahi Optical Co. (later Pentax Corporation) and remained in production until 1997.

The camera resembles a conventional 35 mm SLR camera, with an interchangeable viewfinder and lens, but is considerably bigger and heavier, weighing 2.3 kilograms with the plain focusing prism and standard (105 mm f 2.4) lens.

It is renowned for its high–quality images, rugged construction, and a modular camera system, allowing the use of a variety of lenses and accessories. The camera features a mirror lock–up and a shutter speed range of 1 1000th of a second to 1 second. It is popular with professional and amateur photographers alike and has been a mainstay of the medium format film photography industry for decades.
